Putting the band back together.

On Friday night I was invited to a party in Wigan. It was to celebrate the 40th birthday of Chris and Laura Higgs. The guest list included :

What do all these people have in common? And why were they there? the answer is we all worked together for a little heat pump distribution company called Freedom back in the late 2010s and early 2020s.

We haven't all been together in one place since 2020 so it was an amazing reunion. Many drinks were consumed, tales of old were spilt, old rumours re-hatched and many a heat pump myth dispelled (one of the guys actually believed he works for the manufacturer of the highest cop heat pump on the market) . It was a brilliant evening recounting some of the idiots, shysters and con men we had come across over the years and some of the great installers and customers we still love today.

Of course after a couple of hours of drinking the inevitable happened, we hatched a plan to put the band back together, we sorted out how to get out there and flog heat pumps again, doing it properly with good old fashioned customer service and solve all the industries problems in one go. I don't think we actually drew up a business plan but it wasn't far off.

Of course on Saturday morning we all woke up, heads full of fog. our newly minted WhatsApp group started sending messages and the phone started making that binging sound. In the cold light of day we all realised it was just a dream. We all know that just like every other story of a band reforming one more time, it would end in chaos and tragedy.

The team is now scattered wide across the industry working for manufactures, installers and distributors . I'm really proud of them all, they are a great bunch, you are all very lucky they work for you. And I was lucky they worked for me, thanks guys.
