💭 Reflections on an inspiring season
Summer is always a busy season for science and discovery centres, with the school holidays bringing a surge in visitors and a valuable opportunity to advance strategic priorities and strengthen partnerships. As we look ahead to autumn, we’ve hit the ground running, preparing an exciting line-up of events, including our popular Family Halloween Party and a brand-new adult-only forensic-themed ‘Whodunnit’ experience - both now open for booking.
It’s also been an inspiring time for the sector more broadly, with the annual ASDC Conference offering a space for colleagues across the UK to come together, share ideas, and innovate while tackling the challenges centres face today.
At Glasgow Science Centre, we’re committed to enriching STEM education and forging meaningful partnerships with industry to spark curiosity and creativity in young minds. If your organisation is passionate about inspiring future innovators, we’d love to connect and explore how we can collaborate to make a lasting impact.

👩🔬 Science Centres for our Future
Our CEO Dr Stephen Breslin travelled to London this month to take part in the Association for Science and Discovery Centre’s roundtable discussion ‘Science Centres for Our Future: Supporting Engagement, Education and Diversity in STEM’ in the House of Commons.
The high-profile gathering brought together influencers from across the sector to discuss the vital role of science centres in the UK’s educational and innovation ecosystem.

💼 Political visits
Recently we welcomed Gordon McKee MP for Glasgow Southside and Maureen Burke MP for Glasgow North East to Glasgow Science Centre to learn about the impact our education programmes are having on STEM education and attainment across Scotland.
We're looking forward to continuing to build positive relationships with local representatives and political influencers and raise awareness of the current challenges faced by science and discovery centres in Scotland.
⚓ Further collaboration with BAE Systems
Following a successful initial collaboration with BAE Systems, our Experience Design Service (EDS) Team have been commissioned by the company to enhance the communal areas of their Applied Shipbuilding Academy in Scotstoun and create a world-class learning environment for their students.
This follows on from 2024, where BAE Systems worked in collaboration with Glasgow Science Centre to create a Heritage Exhibition and STEM Classroom within the public-facing reception area of the academy.
