Reviving Livelihoods: Fellow Impactful Journey with the RRE Fellowship

The Reimagine Responsible Enterprise Fellowship (RRE) by Access Livelihoods under the Transforming India Initiative is a fellowship program designed to equip individuals with the skills, knowledge, and on-ground experience needed to lead change in the development sector. Over 13 months, fellows undergo a unique blend of one-month induction training followed by 12 months of experiential learning with a social enterprise, creating a robust foundation for their professional and personal growth.

Structured for Success

• 1 Month Induction Training: Fellows are introduced to the core principles of social enterprises, stakeholder engagement, and community leadership. The training sets the stage for their journey by equipping them with theoretical insights and practical tools.
• 12 Months Experiential Learning: The fellowship immerses participants in real-world projects, where they engage with grassroots communities and social enterprises to address pressing challenges. This hands-on approach ensures they develop skills in problem-solving, communication, and sustainable enterprise management.

One of the RRE fellow, Siddheshwar Pawar from Cohort 2, shares his enriching experience during the fellowship. Assigned to the Maval Dairy Revival and Development Project, an all-women dairy enterprise near Pune, he embraced a wide range of responsibilities. From milk procurement and farmer mobilization to marketing and product manufacturing, every task provided opportunities for learning and leadership.

Overcoming Challenges to Create Impact

Siddheshwar’s work focused on reviving the dairy by engaging women farmers and building trust within the community. His efforts led to impactful outcomes, including:

1. Starting four new Milk Collection Centers.
2. Mobilizing 127 women farmers and training them on modern technologies.
3. Increasing milk procurement from 40 litres/day to over 700 liters/day.
4. Enhancing operational efficiency through technical training and cost analysis.

Growth Through Real-World Challenges

The fellowship's experiential nature helped Siddheshwar develop critical skills, such as stakeholder management, technical knowledge in dairy operations, and community engagement. Initially shy and hesitant, he built confidence, improved his English communication, and gained insights into managing complex social projects.
