RIG VEDA AND ATHEISM

If atheism is compared with religions in terms of number of adherents, than ‘ATHEISM’ is in a slender minority worldwide.

The reason is obvious, in past two millenniums, the two major religions of the world, Christianity and Islam, managed to convert, more than half the population of the world, by enrolling committed, as well as ready to die followers, for their respective unalterable religion, as they say, was authored, by divine intervention, and, therefore, is irreversible.

Unlike, earlier existing religions Hinduism and Buddhism, the subsequently organized religions were drawn, with the sole aim to expand, through ‘Crusades’ ‘Holy wars’ and ‘Jihads’, invading countries, frightening people with swords, and threatening them to convert, to their religion or else die. This ploy worked too well, or else, no one would have followed, any of the so called branded religions, whatever, simply on its merits.

Surprisingly, we can trace the history of ‘Atheism’ back to the Vedic age [5000 B.C] much before; religions came into existence [2000 B.C]. ‘Rig Veda’ the oldest scripture in the world, openly questioned, the religious belief of the divine creator, as any atheist would do, in the same spirit, now. This is what the Rig Veda had to say, “But, after all, who knows, and who can say whence it all came, and how creation happened? The Gods themselves are later than creation, so who knows truly whence it has arisen?”

History of Human civilization is more than 8000 years old, during this period God hardly exchanged a word, to convey his divine message to mankind, reasons best known to him, but two thousand years ago, God, suddenly woke up and decided, to communicate through his representatives, in diverse concoction of manmade languages, to make his diktat explicable to common man. Prior to this, ancient Vedas, held the view, that Godliness is revealed, only in silence and stillness, and not in any manmade language like Sanskrit.

Those who have read, the original script of Holy books, of the organized religions, had aired their unbiased view, saying all Holy books lack consistency. They observed, patchily in some parts, the rendering is very superior in its wisdom, and in other parts, it’s highly inferior in its stupidity. So tying loose ends, is like picking diamonds from dunghills.

Truth is not revealed in falsehood. But ‘Religious Beliefs’ create a false sense of knowledge. Falsehood is attractive, except that it hinders, the life of the faith follower, forcing him to live, on pretentious truth and fake reality, throughout his life . Fiction can never be real. So the question arises ‘What is truth?’ the straightforward answer is, when ‘Laws of Nature’ are seen there is truth. This is the ultimate universal truth, rest all is error and falsehood.

Now the time in which we live is different; it is the time to ‘Reshape Religions’. Higher evolution of mankind is not a human endeavor, but is governed by the law of nature, which is forever evolving, to reach its optimum level, just like, we too are, not the ‘same individual’ we were, some time ago, we are continuously growing, and are constantly changing, the change doesn’t stop, even as, the tallest tree, was once, a small seed.

To know universal truth, we don’t need to climb on mountain tops, to hear a celestial being, make an announcement from sky, nor do we have to roam anywhere on earth, to know it, from anyone else. There is nothing new to be gained. Only the veil of ignorance is to be lifted, to be present, in the everlasting presence of truth, and see truth, as it is, and not the way, each one of us, see it, according to our own, individual perception.

Once this veil of ignorance is lifted, we should learn to fly, like a bird that does not leave its trail in the sky, although knowing well, there is no path in the sky, the bird, takes a flight, to get on, to a pathless journey, without a milestone or a destination, in the limitless endless sky, yet the bird continues to fly, losing itself in eternity, just like a drop of water, dissolves in ocean, and becomes the ocean.

Can a child be born without leaving the mother’s womb?

Men and women come out again, as a twice born, into the domain of spiritual freedom, by breaking the shackles of sheer ignorance of religious beliefs, and free yourself, from falsehood of Holy books. Truth mirrors reality, so stand up, for what is right, even if, you stand alone.

Religions have taught us what we need to know, its utility is over, let us now abandon religions. It is not that religions are bad, but spirituality is better than religions are, so let us graduate to a higher level of consciousness.

After all, wisdom is based on right understanding, right views and right thoughts. Equally important is the realization of universal laws of nature, and the insight of truth, when it is seen and perceived in the right way. Real wisdom is not found in holy books or in the house of worship or in prayers or in performing rites and rituals, as all this leads to falsehood, and truth is lost.

Whether we like it or not, the end of religions is imminent. If atheism survives on the existence of religions, in the absence of religions, atheism will automatically disappear. But in this dicey scenario, we should not forget, our time-tested universal ‘Spiritual Standards’.

Because there is something spiritually subtle within, which enable us, to perceive non-physical cosmic dimensions, which exist without any coherent, consistent or commonsensical conclusion, the logical and the illogical, both are incapable, to solve the puzzle of cosmic mystery. All manmade mathematical equations, which lead to conclusions, is not ultimate reality, and non-physical reality, cannot be explained, by mathematical equations.

The time has come, for mankind to rise above religions and consider humanity as one family, so let us, stop creating hatred or divisions or promote terrorism, to kill innocent people. At this crucial time in history, let us create a genuine mood of camaraderie, with an open heart, and an open mind.

Enough is enough. Hostilities in the name of religions have to end. We have to learn to live in peace and demolish the walls of hate; we have built, between one religion and another religion. Let us come together and celebrate friendship and brotherhood. Let us rejoice, oneness of mankind, by living collectively as one family, with love, peace and harmony. ______________________________________________________________________
