A Roundup of Future of Work Resources

A Roundup of Future of Work Resources

People often ask me for my favorite resources (websites, podcasts, newsletters, books) for following what’s happening at the intersection of the work, talent and leadership. Every time this happens, I scramble to put together a quick email or Linkedin message response, only to do the same exact thing the next time it happens.

Well enough is enough! I am trying to make a more intentional effort of curating and collecting my resources and putting them in one place to make it easier for me to refer to but also so I can readily share it with other people, and below is a first attempt at doing this.

I have a list of people based on specific topics that I care about who I go to for information, insights and ideas. This by no means is a complete list, but it’s a good start if you’re looking to “get smart” on any of these specific themes related to the exploring the intersection of people, the workplace, and leadership.

The Best Way to Use This: My recommendation is to:

  1. Identify a few favorites, and start following them on LinkedIn
  2. Download, subscribe, or listen to their work
  3. Refer back to this as I’ll be updating as time moves on

Just so you know the context for how I put these resources on this list, here are some criteria

  • People who post regularly on social media: Individuals who share their work regularly through a medium (ex: social media, bylines)
  • People who come up with original thoughts and research: I try to find individuals who share a point of view and relevant information, and engage in conversation, either through their own thoughts and ideas, or through research they have done
  • People who have “proof of work” (blog, podcast, newsletter, video series etc) - I try to also look for people who have a “body of work” through some kind of medium, be it a blog, podcast, newsletter, video series, or a commitment to posting or writing.

Finally, it is important to acknowledge that this is skewed toward the podcasts, newsletters, and blogs that I see and read. I have a bias (as outlined above) so I'm hopeful I'll get some responses for additional resources so I can update this continually
