In partnership with Slovenia Outdoor, the Alpine Association of Slovenia, the Mountain Rescue Association of Slovenia, the Slovenian Environment Agency, the Slovenian Police, the Association of Mountain Guides of Slovenia, the Julian Alps Community, and Triglav National Park, the Slovenian Tourist Board is continuing the “Safe in the Mountains” campaign. In 2024, the trusted guide “Things You Should Know Before Heading Out to the Mountains” was revamped and relaunched on Slovenia.info under the Safely into the Mountains title, featuring an expanded selection of expert tips and planning resources for hiking in the Slovenian Alps.
Tourism professionals, especially those in direct contact with visitors, are encouraged to familiarize themselves with this content and share the link across their communication channels (websites, social media, etc.).

Triglav – Tips for a Safe and Responsible Ascent
As part of the Safe in the Mountains initiative, dedicated guidance was developed for ascending Triglav, Slovenia’s highest peak, which draws between 50,000 and 70,000 hikers each year. Despite its popularity, many visitors underestimate the physical demands and potential risks of the climb.
