From the desk of Robin Erickson PhD , Head of Human Capital Research
To keep pace with constant transformation, HR leaders must balance structured top-down direction with bottom-up energy. While executive-driven change ensures alignment and clarity, employee-driven change builds trust, taps frontline insight, and drives innovation—especially in areas like AI adoption.
HR should start this process by creating platforms (e.g., portals, hackathons, or idea boards) that invite employees to shape change directly. This inclusive approach helps surface practical solutions, strengthens engagement, and accelerates buy-in. At the same time, integrating AI-powered survey tools allows HR to monitor sentiment in real time, adjust quickly, and spot resistance early. By scaling both participation and intelligence, HR makes change more adaptive, sustainable, and successful.
