For 10 years, November became the annual ritual of #smartcities crowd where 1000s flock to the city of Barcelona to attend the Smart City Expo World Congress. SCEWC became my go-to event to put my finger on the pulse of the evolution of technology adoption in cities.
Over the last decade, the debate evolved in harmony with technology, how it is shaping our cities, and the way we live and work. Every year this evolution was reflected in the sessions and exhibitors from #connectivity, to #IoT, to #bigdata, etc...
In the last few years, we saw a modest presence of #AI and #ML presence as people were waking up to the fact that AI and "accelerated compute" will power our future for decades to come. As the datafication process continues to grow, we are left with masses of data piling up and screaming to be converted into insight. AI/ML is today making the impossible possible and solving unsolved problems - while turning all this data into insights.
This year I am confident many more sessions and exhibitors will demonstrate the power of AI and DL/ML in transforming our cities and our lives. Combined with 5G, digital twin and "accelerated compute", we are genuinely witnessing a historic moment where the future ahead will be filled with amazing breakthroughs that will help us move forward to more #cognitive #citizen centric environments being #cities, #spaces, or #places.
This year I will be attending the event supported by my colleagues: Davide Schiavon Claudio Fassiotti Dave Gregory and will be sharing a great platform with our partners and friends from #DELL with Graham Porter and team, all together on stand D141.
In addition to a few sessions I will be taking part in, I will be at our #NVIDIA and #DELL booth keen to hear your thoughts and views on how you see AI impacting your enterprise and cities. This year we have very rich content in our on-booth theatre packed with real solutions showcasing the power of AI and digital twins.
