The silent killer.

The silent killer.

It’s time for another edition of the newsletter.

Yes, I’ve missed you too 😁

It’s been a busy couple of weeks. With my diary continuing to fill up, with not much let off.

I’ve been working on talking to businesses to offer the body fix workshop. And, I’ve got my first business signed up and ready for May.

The Body Fix Workshop Key Objectives

With many employees suffering with pain or injury due to work, e.g sat behind the desk all day. I wanted to create something that was beneficial for employees and employers. To give the three outcomes.

Reduce absence. Taking time off not only affects the employee, but to the employer the cost can soon mount up. With so many musculoskeletal related absences, the body fix workshop will help to reduce that number.

Which in turn will lead to less staff churn and increase retention, by showing the employees that the employer cares.

We all know that if we feel pain in our bodies, our focus decreases. But, having the knowledge to know how to reduce or eliminate that will in turn increase our productivity.

2021 statistics.

This all started for me during covid. I went from being super busy in the gym, to sat for long hours trying to work on new ideas. I ended up falling apart from sitting.

And, I’ve seen lots of data around disease and illness linked to sedentary lifestyles.

Sitting really is the silent killer!

And it occurred to me that there must be a lot of people with the same issues.

I did some research on data connected to absence from work. As you can see from the graph above. Musculoskeletal absence was the second highest after general sickness.

So, creating the body fix workshop has been from my own experience, knowledge of the human body, data, and talking to many clients who have aches and pains from being behind the desk all day.

The workshop will consist of education, proactive ideas to help people before, during and after work.

Business expansion

We have our second location opening in Matlock very soon. That’s at Aura Health Club in Wirksworth.

Yes, that’s great news!

My mission as a company owner has always been to help as many people to live pain-free lives. Sarah will be taking charge of the venue and offering sports massage with her 8+ years of experience in the industry.

More on that soon!

Finally, let’s wrap this up with some stretching for you on a Monday!

This is still one of my go to stretches, especially if I have been sat, driving or bench pressing down the gym.

Have a wonderful week ahead and remember…

Just tried that stretch as I sit quite a bit. It has already helped. Thank you for sharing. 😀

Yep - I 100% agree with this. Driving to work, sitting at work, driving home from work. It catches up with you (me).
