Simplify Your Life

WELCOME

As the pace of life continues to quicken and the world grows noisier with each headline, notification, and demand, many of us are craving one thing: simplicity.

This week, we’re hitting pause on the clutter, not just physical clutter, but digital, emotional, and mental clutter too. In a time when complexity is marketed as intelligence and busyness is mistaken for value, we want to remind you that simple doesn’t mean small, it often means wise.

Whether it’s how we approach work, relationships, our homes, or even the daily rituals we often rush through, simplifying can give us back clarity, focus, and peace. This newsletter is your gentle nudge to slow down, zoom out, and ask yourself:

What really matters right now?

QUOTES

"Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication."  Leonardo da Vinci

"Our life is frittered away by detail… simplify, simplify." Henry David Thoreau

"The ability to simplify means to eliminate the unnecessary so that the necessary may speak." Hans Hofmann

"It is not daily increase but daily decrease. Hack away at the unessential."  Bruce Lee

 QUIBBLE

“I can’t slow down, I’ll fall behind.”

This is a mindset many of us carry unknowingly. In a culture that glorifies hustle, pausing or simplifying can feel like slacking. But let’s unpack that…

IS SIMPLIFYING LIFE REALLY SMART OR JUST IDEALISTIC?

On one hand it could provide…

Mental Clarity – Fewer decisions and distractions reduce stress and increase focus.

Productivity – Streamlined routines and clearer goals often lead to more meaningful output.

Emotional Wellbeing – Living with intention brings calm and fulfilment.

Sustainability – Simpler living often means consuming less and wasting less.

On the other hand, it could provide…

Perceived Inflexibility – Some think simplicity can lead to rigidity or boredom.

Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) – Saying "no" to more can feel like saying no to opportunity.

Workplace Pressures – Not every job or industry allows for slower, minimal approaches.

Social Expectations – The desire to keep up can conflict with personal simplicity.

Simplicity is not about having less, doing less, or aiming low. It’s about making space, for clarity, creativity, connection, and calm. Start small. Pick one area of your life that feels overwhelming: your inbox, your schedule, your commitments, your digital habits.

Ask, What can I gently let go of?

Here are a few simple steps to guide you…

  • Audit your calendar and cut one unnecessary obligation.

  • Unfollow or mute five accounts that drain your energy.

  • Declutter one drawer, one app folder, or one shelf.

  • Take 10 quiet minutes each day without input, no music, no phone.

  • Say “no” without guilt once this week.

Remember that peace is not found in the next achievement, but in the moment, you choose to take a breath.

If you are interested in doing a work audit, one that I use with all my clients here is the link to my post from last week.

10 audits every senior leader should complete

As the world has gone mad and everything that we once knew has changed. The life that we have built, the things that we have, often become the shackles that hold us back… Living in a far simpler way, with less expectation on ourselves to keep up, will be a game changer for those that choose to venture there.

QUESTION

"What is one thing you’ve added to your life that you could let go of today, and feel lighter for it?"
