In the first week of June 2025, the Moscone Center in San Francisco hosted Snowflake Summit 2025. This was the biggest user conference Snowflake has ever held. There were over 500 sessions, 200 partners on site, and 36 hands-on labs. The event showed how committed Snowflake is to improving data and AI solutions for businesses.

Strategic Vision and Leadership Insights

The summit began with a conversation between Snowflake CEO Sridhar Ramaswamy and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. They talked about how data and AI are coming together. They stressed the need for strong, reliable data to help AI grow. Altman compared today’s AI to junior employees who are learning. He said that soon, AI will help discover new ideas and solve hard business problems.

Key Product Announcements:

  1. Adaptive Compute: Snowflake introduced Adaptive Compute, a new service that automatically adjusts computing power based on the workload. This helps companies save money and work more efficiently.
  2. Enhanced Security Measures: To improve security, Snowflake is ending password-only logins. Now, users must use passkeys like fingerprints or face ID. Snowflake also added dark web monitoring to protect accounts if login details are leaked.
  3. Marketplace Offers: Snowflake’s Marketplace now lets customers create custom offers with flexible pricing and terms. This gives teams more control and helps them find better deals.
  4. Strategic Acquisition: Crunchy Data - Snowflake announced it bought Crunchy Data, a startup focused on PostgreSQL databases, for about $250 million. This will help Snowflake support businesses building AI apps by combining Crunchy Data’s technology into a new service called Snowflake Postgres.

Advancements in AI and Developer Tools

Snowflake introduced new tools to help developers and data teams:

  • Cortex AI Suite: Includes Cortex Analyst and Cortex Search, tools that let users ask questions in simple terms and search documents easily using AI.
  • Snowpark Container Services: Now available on AWS, allowing developers to run and manage AI models and apps directly inside Snowflake.
  • Snowflake Notebooks: Currently in public preview, these notebooks let developers write SQL and Python code together for data work, model training, and visualization.

Commitment to AI Startups and Education

Snowflake launched a $200 million fund to support startups building AI solutions on its platform. It also invested $20 million in education through its One Million Minds + One Platform program. This program aims to train and certify over 100,000 people by 2027.

Competing in the Data and AI Race: How Arbisoft Strengthens Your Databricks Strategy

Despite the buzz around Snowflake Summit 2025, Snowflake isn’t the only major player in the data and AI infrastructure space. Oracle, Teradata, Databricks, and others are all actively competing to help organizations build their data and AI capabilities. In this fast-moving and highly competitive landscape, Arbisoft delivers strong Databricks consulting and migration services, helping you unify your data estate on Databricks, streamline data engineering, operationalize machine learning, and generate real-time, governed insights.

What We Learned from Snowflake Summit 2025

Snowflake Summit 2025 showed that the future of AI depends on having clean, organized, and trusted data. Snowflake is no longer just a data warehouse, it’s becoming a full platform for building smart apps with AI. New features like Adaptive Compute, Cortex AI, and support for PostgreSQL make it easier and faster to work with data. Snowflake is also investing in startups and training programs to help more people build with AI. The big lesson? Good data is the key to using AI in a safe, smart, and useful way.

Conclusion
