Success On Your Terms

Activate Your D3 Power

Define your Direction | Dominate Change | Defy Obstacles

Do you realize that every moment holds the potential and promise for a fresh start in any area of your life? Yes, you always have at your command, the opportunity to redefine your future. I know you may be thinking this is not possible as the world of work has changed significantly. It used to be that you took on a bigger workload, worked through lunch and took work home as part of your strategic career promotion plan … now these same actions mean you “may” be able to keep your job a few months longer. Also, let’s not forget the competitive side, as the ratio of talent to job opportunity skyrockets. On the other hand, maybe things are fine at work but you have that aching feeling that something is missing. What do you do when the bright future you expected feels like it is slipping away beyond your reach?

Here’s a solution for you … regain control of your career and any area of your life by activating your D3 Power. Don’t wait … begin today … this is your moment for a fresh start to create success on your terms.

Define your Direction

Begin to dream again. Don’t underestimate the power of dreaming. If your memories are bigger than your dreams you’re in trouble because your future stops, when you stop dreaming, reaching and pursuing. A successful life begins with a picture in your mind, besides, great leaders are visionaries, they are not just interested in what’s happening now; they are even more interested in what’s happening next. So, what’s next for you? Where are your possibilities? Are you willing to take a risk to dream big and bold? Here is a clue … Don’t be afraid to solve problems that others fear. While others may see challenges as stumbling blocks, they may be stepping stones for you! A problem is a door and an invitation to a reward system. The bigger the problem the greater the victory… ok, so I am getting carried away but you must admit it is true. Think back to your last big win … remember those near impossible hurdles you cleared, didn’t it feel great to be a superhero?

When you start dreaming, explore all kinds of ideas until something sticks. Don’t judge your thinking before putting it on the table. Don’t let your intellect talk you out of your instincts. Remember, you are only limited when you limit yourself…dare to jump out of the box!

Dominate Change

Congratulations! You are back in the game and ready to move full speed ahead to your new destination. Just a couple a tips before you dive in. Did you ever read the book “What Got You Here Won’t Get You There: How Successful People Become Even More Successful” by Marshall Goldsmith? No worries if you didn’t because I think you get the point I am making just from the title alone. Your mission for this phase of the journey is to fully understand what it will take to accomplish your newly defined dreams. What do you need? Where should you start? What should you stop? What should you continue? Who should you connect with? Identify and observe people who have gone this path before, talk with them, ask insightful questions and more importantly listen to them. The fastest way to learn is through mentorship and the slowest way to learn is through experience. Preparation is never wasted time.

Defy Obstacles

Anytime there are new levels to be achieved, there are also new challenges to face. You can expect a few speed bumps as you charge through the land of opportunity. Not to worry because here is where we can learn from the chess master who never thinks only of the next move, instead he or she is thinking three, four or even five moves ahead. To defy your obstacles you need to develop foresight thinking skills. You do this by casting your vision well into the future and thinking through scenarios that could detour your plans and your journey. Some refer to this as “Plan B” thinking. Practicing this type of thinking on a regular basis allows you become a master of knowing how to anticipate and prepare for challenges. One thing that will be undeniable … you working to overcome the obstacles prove that the victory is authentically yours.

As you start this journey I want you to keep five disciplines in mind:

  1. Control – bring order to your life, clear out the distractions and only focus on what is relevant to accomplish your dream.
  2. Conquest – you are embarking on a personal commitment and I guarantee that your commitment to your dream will be tested so make sure the dream you are pursuing is worth fighting for.
  3. Confront – you will face challenges and when you do, you have two choices … you can either Forget Everything And Run or … you can Face Everything And Rise. Remember, if you don’t face the challenges you won’t grow.
  4. Conquer – any challenge you don’t confront you won’t conquer and you have allowed it to conquer you.
  5. Celebrate – celebrate your wins (small and large). Don’t get so hooked on the challenges that you leave no room to celebrate.

So … Are you ready? …

Go now and re-ignite your passion, keep yourself inspired and be enthusiastic about your future … Envision your mountaintop and start preparing for the journey!

P.S.

I invite you to share your story and journey!

Dimple ... While in the corporate world. The times to celebrate diminished significantly as the sense of urgency for every task increased and work had to be done with fewer and fewer resources...I watched teams and individuals experience extreme burnout on a regular basis
