Take Advice From Those Who Are Closest To Your Goals
Many years ago, with my first business, I had a BIG PROBLEM; I only operated within my circle, thinking that was enough.
Now, with social media, we refer to this as an echo chamber, where you only hear the same voices that you agree with and sound like you.
AI has also become a new platform for this, but that's another newsletter edition for another time.
When you are an entrepreneur, you are focused on attracting and connecting with your client or customer base.
Here's the thing: your audience may not think or feel like you, and if you're in an echo chamber, you'll have a harder time hearing and recognizing them.
This is a classic money-brain problem: asking the wrong people for the best advice, 🤪🤷.
I discovered I was in an echo chamber when I did a classic Prairie Dog move. I looked outside my immediate circle and started connecting with others in different businesses, working with a diverse range of clients.
I soon discovered that the word 'mentor' referred to individuals who needed more than a coach; they required a trustworthy guide who could provide them with undivided attention and not feel like they were being sold to at every moment.
You also paid for their time to speak with you and, perhaps, help you solve a problem.
I've met many highly successful entrepreneurs because they hired mentors at different points in their lives.
And I have a mentor, too, whom I also pay. I've had them for years they have seen me through every business I created and launched. They have seen my failures and continued to cheer me on.
If you've had one of those coaches who constantly sold to you when you just wanted an answer with obtainable skills and a healthier mindset, I am here for you!
Profitable businesses are choices that are guided by skills, and your team hopefully supports you every step of the way.
Being alone can cause more harm, and spending time in the wrong room isn't a good use of your time and money.
A 90-day plan is how I help my clients balance their to-do list (short-term demands, such as cash flow, being one of the big ones) with their long-term goals. Consistently, I work with 5 new clients/customers.
