THINGS I LEARNED AT CMB MOMENTUM 2025 - PART 3 OF 3

The CMB Momentum 2025 radio conference happened in Orlando May 27-30. I tried my best to capture great notes from three speakers. Let’s dive into this week’s Beyond The 615 Column, article # 189.

Here are the three speakers that I took notes from for you.

Amy from The Bobby Bones Show (article # 187)

Angela Perelli (article # 188)

THINGS I LEARNED AT CMB MOMENTUM 2025 - PART 3 OF 3

Legendary Randy Lane was a main stage speaker and led us through the 3 Parts of a Radio Break:

THE BEGINNING - the most important part of the story

Emotion

Conflict

TRIGGER WORDS for the headline:

“You”

“Imagine”

THE MIDDLE - transform passive listeners to active listeners

“Dialog” - share the actual conversation.

Use Sound (SFX, clips, other audio)

There’s a difference in showing (sensory details) & telling.

Tell the story in present tense (not past tense).

 Vocal dynamics (variation & punctuation).

Storylines create Time Spent Listening.

 Vulnerability.

THE END - End your radio break with resolution.

At the time of this article I’ve held over 1,500 coaching sessions where I’ve discovered universal truths that can be tailored to individual shows. There are more helpful videos on my Instagram and YouTube pages, and you can find every article at beyond615.com.
