The Timeless Appeal of Forward Thinkers
Forward thinking will always be a trending attire.
Human beings have had biases since time immemorial. These could be regarding good looks, fair skin, roles for each gender, or stereotypes regarding particular cultures and geographies.
The list goes on.
In our heart of hearts, however, most of us think the list shouldn't exist.
Because some of us might have benefitted from certain biases at certain times, but we know that as individuals we have our limitations, and we cannot satisfy every criteria.
That's why we are so attracted to the feel-good stuff, the hint of idealism, the taste of a "better world."
"Looks don't matter."
"Age is just a number."
"You cannot generalise people like that."
Guess what - we are also attracted to people who preach these words.
The realities around us are too harsh. We need an oasis in the desert. And we need someone who can lead us there.
Be assured: The projection of this saint-like image, larger-than-life thoughts, and words that encourage us to transcend human biases to "see things as they are" - will never go out of fashion.
That's why one of ways to become likeable among people is to subtly preach such words.
Who doesn't want a break from the unfair realities of this world? Who doesn't want to believe that there are better days ahead? Who doesn't want to hang around such 'forward thinking' individuals?
If there is someone who can lead the way, this is a journey that people of every generation have been willing to embark on.
