TLS Continuum Management Tip #21: The path from failure to success is not a straight line (Amy Edmondson)

The journey along the TLS Continuum is a deliberate journey. It is journey that requires a steadfast commitment to action.

Trust me I have never seen an experiment (and remember continuous process improvement is an experiment) that went in a planned-out path from start to finish. Every time we conduct an improvement effort challenges develop. These challenges take us in directions that are unforeseen or unexpected. They guide us into new directions to reach that ultimate goal. They provide us with a different view of the business ecosystem that we operate in.

Don’t fret over the new challenge. Embrace it for what it is – a new path forward. Embrace the potential to WOW your stakeholders by being proactive in resolving organizational issues. I am not a betting man but I am willing to bet your colleagues both internally and externally may have crossed that same bridges in another crisis situation.
