Transparency and Trust will drive Transformation. An Exciting day.....
Today I am beyond excited and proud to announce that, together with a phenomenal group of co-founders, team and angel investors, I have formed a new company, QONSENT www.qonsent.com.
QONSENT was built on the fundamental belief that Personally Identifiable information (Pii) or consumer data, belongs to, and should be ultimately controlled by, you. However, as we all know, it’s not that simple and goes against the grain of how the entire internet, advertising and marketing industries operate today. Although this feels crazy and ultimately counter intuitive, I firmly believe that the future of brand consumer relationships will be built on transparency and trust. These are two things that have been lacking for a while and consumers are making it clear they won’t have it any longer by ending relationships with brands. QONSENT was built to help brands and consumers have an easy holistic path to rebuild that trust.
Qonsent, the first data privacy enablement and engagement platform built for consumers, which enables brands to build a trusted and ethical relationship with consumers by creating a new set of data permissioning tools. Today, our first bit of news is revealing two significant partnerships—with Ketch, the leading platform for programmatic privacy, governance, and security, and a pending partnership with TransUnion, a global consumer information and insights company
Over my 20+ year career I’ve spent plenty of time building digital products and platforms for video games and television shows, I’ve enjoyed the ability to work in innovative spaces like AR, VR, AI, Machine Learning and IoT (did I miss any buzz words?) and I spent a lot of time being BRAVE. In all of that experience, there was always one crucial focal point that I cared about most … the consumer. The consumer experience #FTW. The time has come to take data privacy seriously and we know we can help resolve this issue.
To quote the great @Rishad Tobaccowala: https://rishadtobaccowala.com/blog/privacy-matters
While we are living in a platform age, every business and not just the major platforms will grapple between privacy and their need to identify and build relationships with their customers. Because privacy is at its heart about trust. And brands, leaders, and companies cannot thrive in the medium to long run without trust. Trust is the currency that has most receded in current times as measured by the Edelman Trust Barometer.
As we all begin to be enveloped in a matrix of personalized devices and experiences it will be clear that privacy will be key, and every major company and media organization will need to think and plan deeply on privacy.
At Qonsent, we are focused on this concept of trust. What does it mean to each party? How do we achieve it?
It’s our mission to help unite the industry and form a standard way for consumers to give clear, concise and explicit consent for usage of their data in a mutually beneficial value exchange. We are working to develop solutions to make it easy for consumers to alter these permissions anytime they want. We also want to help brands and platforms deploy products that make it easier to rebuild that trust. We will work with all who are part of this world to transform the ecosystem and conversation.
P.S, we’re hiring!
Thank you
Jesse
