Travel Tips...... It's not just for pants.
I don't think I have been in a hotel room in the past ten years that does not have the " We care about the environment- we hope you do as well" tent card sitting out in plain view. I am all about the environment however I also what a reasonable clean and dry towel the next time I need it. The peg hooks really don't allow for a towel to dry and hanging it over the shower door may provide a good place to dry , however have you ever looked at the top of the shower door? To be honest, it frightens me more then "Saw 5"
The answer is hanging in the closet. I started using the pants hanger to hang up my wet towel and "voila"....... found a compromise between trashing the environment and wanting a dry towel. If you hang your towel from one of the pants hangers you are then able to hang it from a number of places in the room including that pitiful towel hook. Please refrain from hanging it from the sprinkler, this can actually trip the system and cause flooding.
One additional repurpose for this little marvel is to provide shelter from light seeping in your room. I was not always so light sensitive however when you marry a man who likes to sleep in a bat cave it changes your tolerance.
Years ago I had to travel to Fairbanks, Alaska in August. If you have ever been there during this time of year you understand why they call it "land of the midnight sun". Great if you are there on vacation and trying to make the most of your days, not so great if you need to be functioning in the morning.
Short of almost suffocating myself by placing a pillow over my head I still had light coming in my room. This was due to the fact the drapes did not totally close. Since I was fresh out of a needle and thread and it was 1 am, I started looking for options in my room. Everything with the possibility of holding two surfaces together was in consideration. After exhausting all possibilities including chewing gum and a hair clip I spied the pants hanger. The clips were exactly what I needed and did not result in any permanent damage to the drapes. In the morning I simply hung the hanger in the closet.
Safe travels,
