Trenchless CMP Rehab with URETEK polyurethane grout and CentriPipe centrifugally cast concrete pipe.
Ground Works Solutions was recently contracted to rehabilitate a failed corrugated metal pipe (CMP) that runs under a commercial building. This project is a great example of the Inside-Outside approach to infrastructure rehabilitation. Pairing the URETEK and CentriPipe systems allowed for a trench-less, long term (100+ year design life) repair. The following series of photos tells the story.
Before (next 2 images). Asphalt coating has failed and invert has holes in every corrugation. The headwall construction was insufficient, leading to substantial soil loss in the pipe haunches.
During (image below). URETEK polyurethane gout is used to fill the voids and restore the soil envelope around the outside of the pipe.
During (image below). This is after the application of the first (of four) pass of CentriPipe lining.
After (image below). The new Centrifugally Cast Concrete Pipe (CCCP) is completed inside the old CMP. The old CMP is no longer necessary structurally, and essentially becomes a form that is left in place.
