CILIATECH - Glaucoma Innovators has obtained CE certification under the European Medical Device Regulation (MDR) for its Intercil Uveal Spacer, a surgical implant representing a first-of-its-kind procedure for glaucoma. Intercil is the first device in a novel category of procedures termed 'Cilioscleral Interpositioning Devices (CID)'. New World Medical announced the launch of the Ahmed ClearPath ST, a non-valved glaucoma drainage device designed to broaden surgical options and enhance individualized care for glaucoma patients. Building on the success of the Ahmed ClearPath, New World Medical says the new ST model introduces key refinements—most notably a smaller tube lumen with a pre-threaded 6-0 Prolene ripcord suture and an included 25-gauge needle for scleral tunneling. Nanoscope Secures EMA Orphan Designations and FDA RMAT Status for Retinal Gene Therapy MCO-010
Nanoscope Therapeutics Inc. announced regulatory milestones in both Europe and the United States for its lead gene therapy candidate, MCO-010 (sonpiretigene isteparvovec). The European Medicines Agency (EMA) has granted Orphan Drug designation for MCO-010 across five categories of retinal dystrophies, including non-syndromic and syndromic rod-dominant and cone-dominant dystrophies, as well as macular dystrophies.
