Trust the process; Timing is Everything

Trust the process; Timing is Everything

Years ago, a work colleague took a video of me as I walked briskly to catch a trotro (public transport in Ghana) while they drove past me after work & posted it on a platform with a very sarcastic caption.

I became the center of ridicule for the rest of the day. Was I hurt? Yes. But C'est la vie right?

With a determined stance, I told myself "Lorrencia, your time will definitely come"...and it did indeed. Several months after that incident, God blessed me with my own car.

It took over 10 years for me to enter the university after my secondary school education.

I had attempted to gain admission to a number of tertiary institutions, but I wasn't successful, so I decided to use my waiting period to take short courses and internships.

In 2015, after working for a while, I finally got admission for my degree as a matured student at Central University . To be honest, my university education felt like a communications refresher course because the experience I had gathered through work prior to my admission helped me sail through the program and I graduated with honours.

After my National Service, I had high hopes of securing an employment, but the pandemic came, crushing dreams because businesses were greatly impacted and there was a "freeze" on employment. I chose to wait and in waiting God led me to the right organisation.

If there's one thing these scenarios have taught me, it is that "TIMING IS EVERYTHING".

You see, there are so many things that might be yours now, but it may not be time to receive them.

Yes, you need the car, the job, the money, relationship, the validation and all but don't ran ahead of God and take on something you'd regret.

You've got to trust the timing of your life. Go through every phase of your life with grace and grit and watch your dreams manifest.

It has not been a walk in the park for me. There have been wilderness periods in my life, and I wished God would just "move fast" on my case but in learning to trust times and seasons, I have come to appreciate why good things take time as they should.

  • When you see others enjoying their harvest season, don't hate or be jealous about them. The results have taken years of hardwork, resilience and focus.

  • You cannot attract what you despise.

  • Be genuinely happy for people.

  • Learn to go through the different phases of your life knowing that "this too shall pass

  • Trust the Process, Timing is Everything
