(OK...so I used photo of my dog Brie to get your attention!) :-)
Hello. The IBM 2015 Employee Charitable Contribution Campaign (ECCC) will start Monday October 5, 2015 and run through Friday October 23, 2015.
You may or may not know, my now 27 year old son, Zack, has type 1 diabetes and was originally diagnosed when he was 1.5 years old. Zachary has recently graduated Law School at University of Florida. (GO GATORS!)
Most IBM'ers/IBM retirees are not aware that they can direct their 2015 ECCC payroll deduction/contribution to a specific IBM approved ECCC eligible organization in any US state and not just the US state where they live.
I have been very active as a volunteer with the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation (DRIF) in Miami/Hollywood FL for over 25 years and they are listed as an approved IBM ECCC organization in the 2015 IBM ECCC campaign for organizations in the state of Florida.
The Diabetes Research Institute Foundation is:
Diabetes Research Institute Foundation 200 S. Park Road, Ste. 100 Hollywood, FL 33020-8335
IBM agency code: 0A196

Mission: The Diabetes Research Institute Foundation plays a major role in supporting the Institute’s research programs. From providing the seed funding for jump starting new ideas to ensuring the continuation of promising research projects, our Foundation makes research progress possible.
Any IBM'er/IBM retiree in ANY state can direct their payroll deduction/contribution to any IBM ECCC eligible listed organization in any OTHER state. You don't have to direct your payroll deduction/contribution to an organization ONLY in the state you currently reside.
To date, IBM'ers around the US and in South Florida have graciously pledged over $ 450,000 +. Thank you for your support!

In 2004, the IBM intranet W3 ECCC did an article on the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation:
Thanks for your time and consideration. If you have any questions please let me know.
Please SHARE as you deem appropriate.
Thank you:
