A Visit to Hidrostal USA: Engineering Excellence Meets Industry Leadership

During a recent visit to Hidrostal USA in Aurora, Illinois, I had the pleasure of experiencing what sets this company apart—not just as a global pump manufacturer, but as a workplace that values innovation, collaboration, and leadership development.

From the moment I arrived, the Hidrostal team made it clear that this is more than a place of business—it's a community. The warm welcome and open conversations made for an inspiring and insightful tour of their North American headquarters, where Swiss-engineered pump solutions are backed by a strong service and support team.

Hidrostal has long been recognized for its pioneering screw centrifugal impeller technology, which delivers high efficiency and gentle handling of solids-laden fluids. But what struck me most on this visit was the focus on people—both inside the organization and across the industry.

A standout example is Tomas Dobrovolskis, whose leadership journey within Hidrostal continues to impress. Tomas has grown into a key figure not only within the company but also across the wider pump community. His role on the Membership Committee of the Hydraulic Institute reflects his dedication to relationship-building and industry advancement. Watching his career flourish—and seeing the mutual respect between him and the team—was a true highlight of the visit.

One of the most impressive features of the Aurora facility is its in-house pump test facility, which enables the team to simulate real-world conditions and validate performance data before equipment leaves the building. This capability ensures that every pump meets exacting quality standards and gives customers added confidence in system performance and reliability.

The Aurora facility is a hub of technical expertise and customer support, perfectly aligning with Hidrostal’s global reputation for quality, performance, and integrity. Yet beyond the pumps and systems, it’s the culture of the team that leaves a lasting impression: welcoming, driven, and clearly passionate about their role in keeping critical infrastructure running smoothly.

In a time when the industrial sector is more connected and interdependent than ever, it’s encouraging to see a company like Hidrostal lead with both technical expertise and human connection. They’re not just building pumps—they’re building trust, partnerships, and a stronger industry.

It’s great to have you visit our facility and meet our entire team. I’m extremely proud and grateful for all that they do. The industry is opening up their eyes to the screw centrifugal pump technology and I couldn’t be more excited!
