Wait… That’s ADHD too? 😳

Wait… That’s ADHD too? 😳

When I was diagnosed with ADHD, the conversation went something like this:

“You have ADHD. Here’s your Adderall. Off you go!”

Sound familiar?

For a while, I thought that was it. That the diagnosis and the prescription were the whole deal. I figured ADHD just meant I was distractible, impulsive, and had trouble focusing sometimes.

But it wasn’t until I started digging deeper that everything clicked.

All the patterns that had shown up in my business, in my relationships, in how I worked (or couldn’t work)… finally started to make sense.

Because ADHD isn’t just about procrastination or being easily distracted. It expresses itself in dozens of different ways — many of which don’t look like ADHD at first glance.

And here’s what’s wild: even among people who know (or suspect) they have ADHD, most haven’t been told how it actually shows up in their day-to-day life.

I know because I’ve asked.

When people take my “Are You an ADHD Entrepreneur?” quiz, I ask them which ADHD symptoms they were already familiar with.

The answers are both surprising — and not surprising.

Here’s what the data shows:

• Procrastination – 21%

• Distractibility – 20%

• Decision fatigue / paralysis – 15%

• Reduced impulse control – 13%

• Time blindness – 10%

• Emotional dysregulation – 9%

• Rejection sensitivity – 7%

• Working memory challenges – just 5%

That last one still stuns me.

Only 5% recognized that their working memory — the part of your brain that helps you hold and juggle information — might be the reason they can't remember the name of the person they just met, or lose the thread of a sentence mid-thought, or can’t track a to-do list in their head.

And emotional dysregulation? Time blindness? Decision fatigue?

These are core to ADHD. But if you’ve never been told that, you’ll just think you’re “bad at adulting” or “too sensitive” or “not cut out for running a business.”

No wonder so many ADHD entrepreneurs feel stuck.

You can’t work with your brain until you understand how it actually works.

That’s why I created the quiz — not just to help people figure out if they might have ADHD, but to start connecting the dots between their symptoms and their patterns.

Because when you understand your brain, you can stop fighting it — and start building a business that actually fits you.

This is such an important perspective, ADHD isn’t just distraction, it’s a whole spectrum that many don’t fully understand. Thanks for shining light on the real challenges entrepreneurs face!

That's fascinating! I've found that there's quite a high percentage of entrepreneurs that have ADHD.... I know there are downsides, but I think it's also a kind of super power
