We Can’t Get There Alone: Why Our Future Depends on Collective Investment

America is in a pivotal moment, and the State of Minnesota is too!

Everywhere I go, from rural farmlands to booming cities to the financial centers of our country, I hear the same urgent call. Our local economies are under pressure. Underinvestment is draining our communities. The old ways are no longer working. And here’s the truth:

No single leader, no single organization, no single sector can fix this alone.

For the past eight years, I have dedicated my life to developing a more effective way of working together. One that moves beyond talk and into action. That journey has taken me across all 50 states and two U.S. territories, standing alongside senior leaders, innovators, and everyday people who are all fighting for a better future.

Today, I am proud to help lead GroundBreak Coalition, one of the most transformative efforts in Minnesota’s history. Together, we are creating a system that opens the doors to wealth building for all who dream of owning, building, and growing in commercial real estate, homeownership, and entrepreneurship. Minnesota is a special place. I am constantly inspired by the courage of our civic leaders, our spirit of partnership, and our belief that bold change is possible when we work together.

Since February, I have been traveling across the country, listening to the stories of rural Americans, city builders, and leaders across every region. I have heard their ideas, their frustrations, and their hopes. And no matter where I go, one truth rises again and again:

We can’t get there alone.

The investments we need are not small. We are talking about billions, even trillions, at a time when every sector is facing financial pressure. And we must do this while also reducing the national debt and protecting future generations.

It feels almost impossible. However, it is possible if we work together.

Working across differences. Across party lines. Across industries. If we are to survive and thrive, we must come together. Working together is not a luxury. It is not optional. It is the only way forward.

And here’s the good news: many leaders across the country are already stepping up. Public leaders. Private innovators. Philanthropic champions. Nonprofit builders. They are showing that bold, collective investment can be done.

But we need every leader on board.

I believe it’s not just our political system that makes America special. It’s the collective will of the people. The will of leaders who dare greatly. The will of those who push the limits of what seems possible until the work is done.
