Webinar 2 on Building’s Life Carbon Emissions Modeling

Webinar 2 on Building’s Life Carbon Emissions Modeling

Join us on Wednesday 29 May for the second webinar on Building’s Life Carbon Emissions Modeling.

As part of the DYNAMIC RENOWAVE Project activities and inline with the new EU Energy for Building Performance Directive, we are investigating modeling approaches for life cycle carbon emissions for buildings. Firstly, to define common GHG emission accounting conditions to assess embodied and operation emissions. Secondly, define a initial carbon emissions modeling framework that can allow comparing the building emissions in a consisten way worldwide. Several meetings and discussions took place between September 2023 and March 2024 between the Renowave project consortium to identify a systematic methodology for assessing the GHG emissions in buildings and enable the comparative evaluation of carbon reduction measures and technologies. The webinar will share some insights on common calculation methods based on existing standards and and in line with IPCC emissions assessment apprach. The webinar is meant to open a discussion about carbon emissions modeling in the building sector and reflect on RENOWAVE initial framework.

Together with a new team of Ph.D. students Aurora Luigia Teresa Bertini and Maxime Dasse and scientists including Prof. André Stephan, prof. Émilie Gobbo and prof. Shady Attia, we are collaboration on the DYNAMIC RENOWAVE Project. The project client and funding type is from the FNRS PDR.

About the speakers

Aurora Bertini is a PhD candidate in architectural engineering at Liege University and UCLouvain. She is specialised in building physics, HVAC systems and building energy modeling.

Maxime Dasse is a PhD candidate in architectural engineering at Liege University and UCLouvain. He is specialised in life cycle analysis and building environmental modeling.
