Weddings in 2020: They Could be Twice as Nice...

As it stands, a wedding is too big an event to have post lockdown, and with other areas like honeymoons affecting the ‘standard’ wedding, it’s time to rethink and get creative.

As frustrating as this is, we have to remain proactive and positive. For many, taking decisions back into their own hands rather than waiting for the government to make a move is far better.

Could there be a positive to all this? Yes, absolutely!

Split the fun!

What might well be possible this year though is a smaller gathering of 50-100 (depending on what you read and listen to). That brings to mind the idea that you could have TWO WEDDINGS!

If we’re allowed to have smaller gatherings of no more than 75 then you could have a wedding with close family pretty soon, and then a second wedding for your wider family and friends either later this year or on consecutive weekends!

Get married now but celebrate later!

Carry on with your wedding arrangements this year with a small crowd of family and friends that fits with the social distancing and the rules on limited gatherings, and postpone your wedding breakfast until next year, when you’ll hopefully be able to invite everyone!

Postpone your wedding until 2021 and have a virtual party in 2020

With the rise of the Zoom meeting you could replace your current scheduled wedding day with a virtual party with all your family and friends. Software like House Party, Zoom, Remo, and Facebook Messenger Rooms offer a large range of options. Not the same, but added celebration and something to look forward to that can't be cancelled!

“We can’t direct the wind, but we can adjust the sails.”

We’ve never seen such an impact on the events world. But now we’re well into this ‘new normal’ or road to new normal, it’s time to dust ourselves off, adjust, and work with what we’ve been dealt.

We can’t affect the government decisions but we can take control and make our own.

And let's be honest... nothing gets in the way of true love!
