Weekly Data Centre News - 15/08/2025

Weekly Update! I’m still in Cornwall this week, so if you need me, you’ll find me somewhere between the beach and the ice cream stand.. But that hasn’t stopped me from pulling together the latest headlines. It’s been a busy one, with capital raises, new campuses announced, major lease deals being signed, and plenty of nuclear-powered chatter shaping the industry’s future. Sun, surf, and data center news, what more could you want? Back to the beach..

Thanks for this and greetings from Finland. Just to clarify about the electricity tax: There is no such a decision has been made as it was only proposal in March and the second point the proposed electricity tax increase was removed from the legislative proposal in July. The Ministry is currently working on a new model that better accounts for the diverse roles and operational profiles of data centres. Thanks to FDCA - Finnish Data Center Association for their active involvement in this important matter.
