Global PV installations may hit 655 GW this year, says SolarPower Europe
The world could install up to 655 GW of new PV capacity this year, according to the “Global Market Outlook for Solar Power 2025-2029” report, which was recently published by the SolarPower Europe industry association.
If confirmed, the result would mark 10% growth from 2024, when developers installed about 597 GW of new PV systems worldwide and global cumulative PV capacity reached 2.2 TW by the end of December.
Tight supply sends European module prices upwards in April, says sun.store
Continued supply strain has sent module prices on an upward trend in Europe during April, according to the latest pv.index report from solar trading platform sun.store.
As buyers continue to favour brands from the top manufacturers, this has driven price hikes for N-type monofacial and bifacial modules. The price for both monofacial and bifacial N-type modules increased to €0.105/Wp (US$0.119/Wp), representing a 5% and 12% price increase, respectively, from the previous month when prices remained steady or edged slightly downwards.
