What Anthony Bourdain Taught Me About AI, Timing, and Being in the Right Room

What Anthony Bourdain Taught Me About AI, Timing, and Being in the Right Room

The Rhythm of Presence

I’ve never been one for noise. Black t-shirt. Backpack. Laptop. City to city, moment to moment. Not in pursuit of followers—but of flow.

Wherever I go, I’m remembered. Not because I perform, but because I show up—with intention. The barista in Austin. The doorman in Chicago. They nod, they greet, they know. I’m not viral. I’m gravitational.

The Voice in My Head

It’s not mine. It’s Bourdain’s. Not literally—but spiritually.

Dry. Direct. Almost amused. “You don’t need to pitch. Just sit down and listen.”

He moved through the world with humility, not a hustle. He didn’t network. He wandered—with presence. And in doing so, built something deeper than connections. He built trust.

From Serendipity to System

I’ve lived in motion. Investor calls from rooftops. Deals closed in bare feet. But the best moments? They weren’t planned.

They were serendipitous—but never accidental. They happened when proximity, timing, and pattern finally aligned.

That stranger who became a cofounder. That flight overlap that changed everything. Not luck—just awareness.

Building a Sixth Sense

So I built something to harness that awareness. Not another CRM. Not another feed. A relationship intelligence engine. A proximity-powered gut instinct.

It watches your world and whispers: “She’s in New York too—reach out.” “He just checked in near you—don’t miss him.” “You’re both in Austin tonight—grab that drink.”

THR doesn’t spam. It nudges. It’s not another notification. It’s your signal.

Connection > Collection

We don’t need more contacts. We need more context. Not access. Alignment.

Bourdain didn’t chase the crowd. He saw who mattered—and moved.

That’s what THR is. A return to meaning. To presence. To the kind of reconnection that doesn’t require a pitch deck or a LinkedIn DM.

A New Way to Move

If you don’t do small talk... If you’ve ever felt the power of “right place, right time”... Then you don’t need another app. You need a signal.

This is it.

Quiet. Timely. Human.

Exactly how he’d want it. Exactly how I’m building it.

Walking for a month across Spain "Camino de Santiago" I experienced the lack of noise and the flow of life. Learning to unpack what we carry (I did have a backpack- lol) empowers us to live freely. Being authentic- letting life happen. Where time has no meaning and we just connect with others, the world, our inner-self. Your writing is inspirational - Thank you!

This gave me chills — the comparison to Bourdain is so grounded and poetic. Presence over performance, always.

“Not viral. Gravitational.” Honestly, that’s a whole vibe. More leaders need to move like this.

You’ve articulated something I’ve been trying to figure out for years. It’s not about noise. It’s about noticing.
