What is AWS EC2?

Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) is a web service that allows users to create and run virtual machines (instances) in the cloud. EC2 provides resizable computing capacity, which means users can scale their computing resources up or down as needed.

EC2 is designed to make it easier for developers to build and host software systems on the web. It offers many options, including:

·         Autoscaling

Automatically scales resources to meet changing needs and peak periods

·         Storage

Users can choose from different storage options, including ephemeral storage, Amazon Elastic Block Store, and Amazon S3

·         Instance types

There are different types of instances available, including HPC instances, which are optimized for running HPC applications at scale

·         Payment options

Users can choose from on-demand instances, reserved instances, and spot instances

EC2 can help streamline development processes and reduce the need to invest in hardware.
