What I am up to!

I should probably explain myself.

I have been at Tridel since basically 1989 and everyone expected me to retire there. (even me!)

So what is going on?

Most people know that I have been pursuing smart and connected communities for the last twelve years and it is something that I am very passionate about. I believe in it, because it is important for North America, as technology is foundation for the future and it has been sadly lacking in the communities that we have been building.

At Tridel, we were well underway with Ten York, Canada’s most advanced condominium development, with a commercial grade network at the core, a distributed antenna system for cell phone coverage, and the Commax Smart Community solution to bring the entire experience together and enabling a mobile enhanced living experience.

It became obvious to me that it was time to pursue this vision on a bigger scale as I see the industry transforming and finally getting it!

I am still doing what I have always done, bringing partnering companies together, collaborating with academia and students, and being a part of a vision that will transform living.

I am now the President of SmartONE solutions, a company that builds technology solutions that will support digital living. I still volunteer with many Universities and Colleges and am on the advisory board of a few smart city initiatives.

It is an exciting time and the transformation has started and I am interested in anyone that wants to come along for the ride.
