What if I told you that you are wrong about almost everything you know, would you accept that?

Evolving Loudly with Tamanda – Week 1

Two weeks ago, I was on a little school trip. I grabbed a copy of The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck thinking, “Finally! A book to help me stop caring about what people think.”

This book will slap you harder, it will help you embrace the parts of yourself you hide.

As a retired people pleaser, that alone felt like freedom. I was ready for permission not to care. To be unbothered. To become that girl who doesn’t flinch when judged.

But what I found inside this book was not what I expected. It wasn’t about how not to care. It was about caring about the right things—and dropping the delusions.

Then came the truth bomb:

“You are hiding under affirmations.”

Whew. That hit me hard. It called out the way I sometimes use positive affirmations to escape tough conversations with myself. To avoid accountability. To protect the parts of me that don’t want to change.

But the chapter that changed me completely? Chapter 6. It said:

“You are wrong about everything. But so am I. And that’s okay.”

Growth is an endlessly iterative process; we can never arrive at perfection, but we will always arrive at a 'less wrong' signpost every time. Admit that there's always something to learn.

It hit even harder when it continued:

“Growth is an endless iterative process. We don’t go from wrong to right—we go from wrong to slightly less wrong. Then slightly less wrong than that. And again. We are always in the process of approaching truth—never fully arriving at it.”

That shook me. We chase perfection, but it doesn’t exist. We chase being “right,” but life is about becoming less wrong—over and over again.

It reminded me:

  • To challenge my beliefs

  • To question my thoughts

  • To accept that certainty can be dangerous

  • To give myself permission to evolve

So here I am—a little less wrong than last week, and that’s enough.

What belief are you holding onto that might be wrong—or at least, in need of a challenge? Let’s keep chipping away at our old selves.
