"Who leads the Enterprise Social Collaboration space?" "Smart users"

I am very excited to share the news of publishing of my new research report on Enterprise Social Business Collaboration. The latest report from ISG titled "The ISG Provider Lens™ Social Business Collaboration – Services & Solutions Global Report for 2019 " compares solution vendors and service providers in the enterprise collaboration and external customer facing social media management space in different quadrants.

At a global level, we compared solutions capable of offering enterprise wide social collaboration solution. No, its not just enterprise networking suites (ENS) or traditional intranet solutions. Its also not just the modern team collaboration solutions. The modern social collaboration solution landscape includes a variety of solutions that not offers only pockets of complete features like meetings, top-down communications, instant chat and messaging, workflow management, project management, file sync and share, etc. but also is capable of providing enterprise wide collaboration on its own. The most important aspect in deploying a solution in modern times is not the features of solution but whether will it enable end users to grow their digital dexterity. An enterprise wide collaboration solution can provide business benefits only when it makes its end users more digitally dexterous. It means, a smart end user does know how to make best use of these technologies to interact and collaborate. Its not the tools that need to connect, its the people, and that too smart people. If the people are not smart, they wont be able to generate any positive result no matter how effective tool you deploy.

Yes, we have seen examples of enterprises embracing solutions like Workplace by Facebook even when they already have an Office365 setup which has all the necessary elements of fostering enterprise wide collaboration. We have seen enterprises focusing on meeting solutions like Webex and grow enterprise wide collaboration out of it without relying on solutions like Teams. Yes, it is possible to develop a super collaborative culture using Slack alone. Yes, many enterprises have been able to generate business improvement results by deploying digital workplace solutions like Igloo.

We have recently seen lot of traction in this space. Many large players have exited the market like IBM, Atlassian, Vmware; while many are trying to expand like Cisco, Google, Flock. We did identify few leaders in this space based on their solution's capabilities and successful customer stories.
