Why do couples have affairs?

Affairs stem out of the needs of the cheating partner that are “unfulfilled by his/her respective spouse” according to him/her.

They pin their spouse down for not keeping them happy or satisfied.

This is their defence when accused. In reality, these needs will never be satisfied, as they are an internal problem from within, not outside.

Because humans are NOT monogamous.

For most of human history, life expectancy was about early thirties, women tended to die in childbirth, and religious bodies had way too much influence in human actions…but even then, affairs were ubiquitous.

Now with a life expectancy of about 80, and better health practices keeping people youthful and vital well into their sixties and beyond…and women no longer forced to spend most of their lives at home with children…the opportunities abound for the chance meet, the spicy chemistry, the frustration and boredom of a long-term relationship.

So for all manner of reasons, people eventually explore their normal impulse, which is to hook up with enticing partners, instead of denying all their sexual impulses.

I don’t think anyone can say why, and if they can, it’s highly specific to that one individual who is having the affair, even though there are some general causes.

There is no reason; they just do it. They can't just stand to have just 1 woman or 1 man.

I guess when they said their marriage Vows before God, they didn't mean it. There is always some slut somewhere to go after anyone's man.

They don't care. And the same for a man.

Most women like married men bc there is no commitment, and they think that they are clean with no diseases.

Some people have affairs bc when you're married for a while, it gets boring, maybe..I don't know.

When one of the spouses feels deficient from their partner, or that the partner does not give enough time to the spouses, does not listen, or does not see, the other will look for someone who listens to them and sees them. The story begins, and then turns into complete betrayal.

Some men and women don't change. They continue to flirt even after they are married. These people marry more than 2 times.

These men are players, and women are mostly gold diggers. Often, they find each other and madly fall in love as she traps him with good sex, and he thinks she's perfect.

One day they realize they both are manipulators. Both are unhappy. Then they quickly move on and start living with their next lover.

Some good men find themselves as nothing more than a wallet and a sperm donor. Women don't stay when these men lose their jobs.

It's because of ignorance. Some people you can never please, no matter what you do.

People need to understand that there will be times in a marriage when you're going to disagree to a degree because there is no perfect marriage, but that doesn't mean it's ok to run to the streets looking for another woman and or another man you are only adding gas to the fire that is already burning in the home.

Communication is the key to a successful marriage. Learn to understand your mate, get to know them better.
