My Journey to Decoding Greatness: Why I Coach and Consult

I grew up in a world that taught me survival, not success. In poverty, or in a culture devoid of wealth-building knowledge, the idea of "what you don’t know" becomes your greatest enemy. Knowledge wasn’t just scarce—it was invisible. Even when books like those by Stephen Covey, Robert Kiyosaki, Gino Wickman, and Simon Sinek found their way into my hands, I was ill-equipped to understand their transformative power. I read them, just like many of my friends, not for enlightenment but for ammunition. I learned to rephrase catchy phrases to sound smarter than the next person or to create “gotcha” moments in conversations. The words were there, but the meaning—the system—was not.

The problem was never the books; it was the code hidden within them. Without the ability to decode their true message, the best I could achieve was surface-level understanding. I didn’t grasp that these authors weren’t just sharing philosophies—they were laying out systems. Systems for thinking, systems for leading, systems for creating wealth, and systems for living a life of impact.

The Turning Point: Discovering the Source Code

It was a chance encounter with someone on my path—a mentor, a guide—that changed everything. They taught me how to read deeper, how to break down what these authors had written and uncover the system beneath the surface. For the first time, I understood that these weren’t just words or concepts—they were blueprints, actionable strategies rooted in principles practiced for generations. I learned that success isn’t mystical or unattainable; it’s systematic.

Through this enlightenment, I began to piece together the universal truths embedded in these works, truths that transcended cultural or socioeconomic boundaries. I saw how Stephen Covey’s principles could guide personal mastery and organizational alignment. I understood how Robert Kiyosaki’s frameworks could redefine financial freedom for those who, like me, had grown up believing a paycheck was the ultimate goal. I internalized Gino Wickman’s systems for clarity and execution in business. And Simon Sinek’s timeless emphasis on purpose taught me that the “why” drives everything.

Breaking Down the Authors: Their Lessons, My Insights

Stephen Covey: The Architect of Effectiveness

Covey was a master of systems thinking. His 7 Habits of Highly Effective People became my foundation for personal transformation. “Be Proactive” wasn’t just a habit; it was an instruction to take ownership of my life. “Begin with the End in Mind” taught me to design my future intentionally. Covey’s framework helped me see that effectiveness is about aligning daily actions with long-term values. His 8th Habit—discovering your voice—became my mission. I wasn’t just reading Covey; I was decoding a system for clarity, prioritization, and sustainable growth.

Robert Kiyosaki: The Wealth Builder

For years, Rich Dad Poor Dad was just a story to me—a cautionary tale about thinking differently. But once I understood Kiyosaki’s true message, everything changed. His emphasis on assets versus liabilities redefined my understanding of wealth. His Cashflow Quadrant taught me to escape the trap of being an employee and to think like a business owner and investor. Kiyosaki’s system isn’t about chasing money—it’s about building a structure that works for you, whether you’re present or not. For someone like me, who grew up without wealth, this system wasn’t just eye-opening; it was life-changing.

Gino Wickman: The Systems Guy

Wickman’s Traction and his Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) gave me the tools to move from ideas to execution. His six key components—Vision, People, Data, Issues, Process, and Traction—brought structure to the chaos of ambition. I learned that success isn’t about working harder; it’s about building a system where the right people are in the right seats and every process serves a clear purpose. Wickman taught me that clarity is power, and execution is the bridge between vision and results.

Simon Sinek: The Purpose Whisperer

Sinek’s Start With Why brought it all together. His Golden Circle—Why, How, What—showed me that purpose is the foundation of leadership and influence. “People don’t buy what you do; they buy why you do it.” That single line became my compass. His concept of the “infinite game” in life and business resonated deeply: the goal isn’t to win; it’s to keep growing, adapting, and creating value. Sinek taught me that the human element—trust, empathy, and service—cannot be separated from success.

Why I Coach and Consult

Once I unlocked these systems, I couldn’t keep them to myself. I realized that many people, especially those from humble beginnings like me, never even know these systems exist. They read the books, but without context, they remain forever on the surface. My mission is to change that.

I coach and consult because I believe no one is inherently extraordinary—what makes someone extraordinary is how they respond to the opportunities and challenges life presents. The systems I’ve decoded from Covey, Kiyosaki, Wickman, and Sinek are the tools to respond well. They are the frameworks to turn ambition into achievement, chaos into clarity, and dreams into action.

I’m not special. Anyone who knows me will tell you I’m as ordinary as they come. But what I’ve learned is extraordinary, and it has the power to change lives. My goal is to make these systems digestible for anyone willing to listen—no matter where they come from, no matter how much they think they lack. Because the truth is, what you lack isn’t ability or intelligence—it’s access to the source code.

This is why I do what I do. This is why I share these lessons. Because if I can understand these systems, anyone can. And if I can use them to change my life, so can you. Together, we can break cycles, create wealth, and lead with purpose.
