Why the London Tube Map is not Universally Applicable!!
As the world continues to become more complex, the management principles, strategies, and practices of yesterday are no longer enough to ensure success in the future. The leaders of tomorrow must be able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment, or risk being left behind.
Take, for example, the London Tube Map. This iconic map has been used for over a century to help Londoners navigate their city. Yet, despite its ubiquity and familiarity, this map cannot be adapted for other cities around the world. Its linear structure and colour-coded lines work perfectly for the layout of London – but nowhere else.
Similarly, the management strategies of yesterday are no longer enough to keep up with the ever-changing business world. The leaders of tomorrow must be prepared to embrace new ideas, technologies, and processes in order to stay ahead of the competition. They must also be willing to take risks and challenge the status quo, as the world is no longer predictable.
