In an earlier LinkedIn post, I wrote about career planning - why it's important for one to take time to map out their own 5-year career plan and how at Equinix, we help employees to pursue their career aspirations.

In this post, I will share why partner marketing roles are important at Equinix and you should consider a career with us if this is what you aspire to do.

What is interconnection?

Interconnection is private data exchange between businesses. A more detailed definition of Interconnection is the deployment of IT traffic exchange points that integrate direct, private connections between counter-parties. Interconnection is best achieved hosted in carrier-neutral data center campuses, where distributed IT components are colocated. In an age when reams of information race around the world with the click of a finger and massive transactions routinely occur several times faster than the blink of an eye, interconnection powers digital business. How does a company like us grow our revenue 76 quarters in a row?

We believe that partners are at the center of this winning streak. Our CEO mentioned that “we have line of sight for channels to grow to 50% of our bookings in the coming years as we enhance our systems and processes, and leverage our diverse set of partners to scale our reach” in our Q4 2021 earnings.

At Equinix, an internal cliché that is common amongst the sales team but also known throughout the organisation, is that “Equinix plus two partners equals a deal.” It is what we call the “Power of Three”.
