The income tax portal works at amazing reliability, ~100% consistency , carries data of years accurately without mistakes , works at peak efficiency on the last day of submissions also - a true marvel of our IT prowess ....Kudos.
It takes in without failure all that is input !!!
The Provident fund portals(unified apparently ?) works at a shocking lack of reliability, consistently changing, apparently carries data of years which cannot be ever seen, works at a pace where you would spend months trying to figure out where to find your hard earned savings.... a true monument of our failure to adopt technologies across, an example of our inability to have synergies across functions and a complete disregard for the honest tax paying citizen.
Whatever is fed is not visible !
The cornerstone to success on our Make in India, Smart cities and all initiatives starts with basic connectivity across internal functions, improving productivity where it impacts the common man and hence treating the honest tax paying citizen with respect and encourage more to get into the system- else the "Law of Diminishing returns" holds good.

8ySpent lot of time on searching web link for downloading PF statement, this feature detached from UAN and moved to EPFO site Transition of web appears to have a problem, new link available for login with no option for sign-up, customer care phone number always set to busy Government need to ensure equal focus for the both receiving and services portals, improve on user experience for service portals concerning to RTI

8yTo be fair the older portal was quite effective - I personally can vouch for how transparent and efficient it was for transfers and online passbook downloads. The upgrade seems to have broken it - surprising considering how well proven the technology stack for this scale and type of application . What is scary now is the temporary passbook download link is not secure . It works though .
