WSOY a part of Bonnier Books is bringing augmented reality technology into its books
Together with Linkit Concept, WSOY have created a campaign in which digital technology and printed material are brought together in an interesting and immersive way.
The world of ‘The Grump’ opens to the reader in a truly unique way thanks to augmented reality technology.
Augmented reality (or for short AR) is a technology which overlays digital content, such as videos, pictures, games and weblinks onto a physical products or images.
Linkit Concept, as a Blippar Certified Partner since February 2016 is using the Blippar AR tools to create these experiences for their clients. Blippar is the leading augmented reality provider with over 65 million users worldwide. Linkit Concept offers the most innovative bespoke intelligent solutions for media and packing industries by using the top talents of its global network.
The exclusive digital content can be unlocked by a smart device – a tablet or a smartphone. Once the free application ‘Blippar’ has been downloaded on a smart device (tablet or smartphone), the reader experiences a truly unique digital content coming to life just by blipping (‘scanning with Blippar’) the cover of the book.
Augmented reality provides endless opportunities for traditional printing and packaging. This new technology expands printed media and packaging into a digital communicating channel.
