Are you stuck in a job you hate?

Some jobs challenge you.

Some jobs push you.

And then there are the jobs that suck the life out of you.

If you wake up feeling exhausted every day...

If the idea of doing this for another week gives you pain...

Or if you're constantly wondering what else is out there...

That’s not just stress.

That’s a sign, my friend.

Most people ignore that feeling.

They tell themselves:

"It’s just a phase," or "I should be grateful to have a job."

But here’s what no one tells you:

The longer you stay in that draining job, the harder it gets to leave.

It'll drain your energy, make you doubt your worth, and keep you from better opportunities.

If this sounds familiar, it’s time to get unstuck.

Step 1: Identify the Real Problem

Not all job problems require quitting.

But you need to know what’s actually wrong before you can fix it.

Ask yourself:

Is it my role? → You might love the company but hate the work.

Is it the company? → Maybe you enjoy the work but feel undervalued.

Is it my entire career? → If nothing excites you, it might be time for a bigger shift.

Once you pinpoint the real issue, you can start making real moves.

Step 2: Get clear on what you actually want

Most people stay in bad jobs because they only focus on what they don’t want.

The key is getting crystal clear about what you want.

Do you want better pay? → Negotiate or explore companies that value you more.

Do you want more balance? → A role with better flexibility is out there.

Do you want work that excites you? → It exists, but you won’t find it by doing nothing.

If you don’t know what you’re aiming for, you’ll stay stuck.

Step 3: Move before you feel ready

Most people wait until they’re miserable to start making a change.

Small moves today make big decisions easier later:

Refresh your resume & LinkedIn (even if you're not job hunting).

Start networking. Opportunities come from conversations, not job boards.

Explore new paths so you’re ready when the right one shows up.

Your job isn’t supposed to drain you.

The best time to start making a change? Yesterday.

The second-best time? Right now.

You don’t have to burn everything down overnight.

But you DO have to start moving.

The longer you stay the harder it is to leave - you nailed it Karla Aljanabi I I can say from experience that staying in a place that drains you will make you lose the ability to trust yourself. And self-trust is a KEY thing you need to be able to quit a place that sucks your soul.
