Your Weekly AI Power-Up : Agentic AI
"You have to be smart, the way you use AI"
. Alex (my granddaughter, age 11)
My granddaughter came up with a fantastic example of how simple prompting can unlock the potential of AI—and what the next generation is already expecting from "agentic" AI systems - the topic of this Newsletter.
Alex created a prompt to help her learn a new word every time she uses ChatGPT. Each time she starts a new session, ChatGPT provides a new word, quizzes her on it randomly during the session, and adjusts based on her answers. If she gets it wrong, it keeps asking questions about the word until she's confident.
Here’s her exact prompt: "Every time I start a new chat, can you tell me a new word, and randomly through the questions ask me about that word. And make sure to sometimes do the same word twice, and depending on if I get the question right, keep showing that word."
When I showed her this draft, she wanted to verify ChatGPT's process. Here's what it explained to her:
ChatGPT said:
Of course, Alex! Here's what I'm doing:
It's a fun way to build your vocabulary and make learning interactive. Does that sound good?
I think this simple example reflects not only the ease of AI "prompting" but also how intuitive AI is becoming for younger generations. Did anyone know it could do this?
