🚨 Breaking News: GPT-5 is here 🚨 After weeks of anticipation, OpenAI just released GPT-5, which it says is faster, smarter and more useful than previous models — as well as a leap forward on the path to AGI. Key highlights: 🔺 Better at coding, writing, tool use and complex workflows — helpful in agentic applications; 🔺 Lower hallucination rates, smarter guardrails and a new “safe completions” system; 🔺 Integrates OpenAI’s “GPT” and “o” model lines into one unified system; 🔺 Everyone has access (with usage limits depending on your subscription). CEO Sam Altman said it’s a level-up, and “really feels like you’re talking to an expert.” Catch the full breakdown in the latest edition of LinkedIn News Tech Stack. 👇 And click 'Subscribe' to be notified of future editions. ✍: Tanya Dua

Is the management track losing its luster? Only 28% of U.S. employees in non-management roles say they want to become people managers in the next few years, according to LinkedIn’s latest Workforce Confidence survey. While younger workers — Gen Z and millennials — are more open to it, with nearly 4 in 10 expressing interest, enthusiasm drops with age. Just 14% of baby boomers and 29% of Gen Xers want to step into management roles. One reason for the disparity? Many professionals with longer careers likely found growth and fulfillment outside of a traditional management path. Plus, some professionals aren't sure the added stress and responsibility of a management role is worth it, especially as organizations get flatter. That being said, while managers report higher levels of stress, Gallup found they also report higher levels of engagement and excitement on the job than other professionals. If you're a manager, what made the transition worthwhile for you and what advice would you give someone who's unsure about taking that step? If you're an individual contributor, what's been your experience off the people management path? ✍️: Taylor Borden 📊: Allie Lewis

“Younger people are way too obsessed with work-life balance right now.” When Dana Perino was White House Press Secretary, she devoted all her time to work — and paid for it with her health. That experience made her realize that even in your busiest periods, you have to prioritize your health because you can’t show up as your best self otherwise. “There are seasons in your life,” Dana says. “If you think of work-life balance over the course of your career rather than over the course of your week, you’ll be better off.” What’s your spiciest take on work-life balance? 🌶️
