Explore top LinkedIn content from expert professionals.

Summary

Fitting exercise into a busy work schedule means finding practical ways to stay active even when your calendar is packed. The goal is to make physical activity a regular part of your daily routine, no matter how hectic life gets.

  • Schedule workout blocks: Treat your workout time like an important meeting by adding it to your calendar, making it non-negotiable and easier to protect from other commitments.
  • Embrace quick sessions: Short, high-intensity workouts or simple movement routines can fit into even the busiest days without requiring a lot of time or a change of clothes.
  • Combine activities: Find creative ways to move more, such as walking during phone calls, taking the stairs, or exercising during short breaks to seamlessly blend fitness with your daily tasks.

Working out with a packed day is nearly impossible: But I still manage to get some quick exercise in. Still in my work clothes. It has worked GREAT for me. Here’s why it matters. Prolonged sitting and lack of physical activity can lead to: → Lower energy levels → Slowed metabolism → Increased stress → Reduced focus → Poor posture My Five Go-To, Quick and  ↳ Not sweaty workout options ↳ When my day is super busy PICK ONE: I choose as heavy as possible but stay in control. I use Kettlebells. You can also use Dumbbells 1. Suitcase Carry (150ft):  → Alternate hands, using the heaviest weight manageable. 2. Press, Swing, and Squat Combo: (1 or two bells) → 3-5 presses per arm, followed by 3-5 kettlebell swings, and 3-5 squats  → (using one or two kettlebells). 3. Row and Squat Combo: (1 or two bells) → 3-5 bent-over rows, then 3-5 squats. 4. Lunges:  → Do 3-5 lunges, holding one or two kettlebells. 5. Waiter’s Carry: (1 Bell) → Carry one kettlebell for 20 feet, switch hands, and return.  → Do 3-5 rounds. Integrating the Workout on my busy days: → I get up off my butt every 40-60 minutes. → Go down to the garage, grab and go.  Takeaway: Keep it simple. Be smart.  Be safe.  MOVE. It works! Stay active, my friends. Never miss another workout with these 7 simple strategies In the Army, I had a commander that would always quote the 7 P’s, “Proper Planning and Preparation Prevents Piss Poor Performance.” as he walked around with what was probably his 4th cup of coffee. If you don’t properly prepare, your excuses will always win. This week, my buddy and I decided to take his boat out to scout for hunting spots for him and get some awesome shots for me. We almost cancelled because of the cold weather. Instead of throwing in the towel, we planned. We gathered all the cold weather gear we could find and got the boat ready the night before. I even crashed at his place because I knew if I had to wake up at 5 and drive +20 mins in the cold, I wasn’t going. We even prepped our food for the entire day. This is the same preparation it takes in fitness. If you’re struggling with showing up for your workouts, try these: 1. Schedule it: Treat your workout like any other important appointment. Schedule it in your calendar, and prioritize it just like you would a work meeting. 2. Morning Routine: Consider working out in the morning. It sets a positive tone for the day, and you're less likely to let other commitments interfere with your exercise routine. 3. Shorter, Intense Workouts: Opt for shorter, high-intensity workouts. A quick, intense session can be more manageable in a busy schedule and still provide effective results. 4. Prepare the Night Before: Lay out your workout clothes the night before. Having everything ready makes it easier to transition into exercise without wasting time searching for gear. 5. Combine Activities: Integrate physical activity into your daily routine. For example, take the stairs instead of the elevator, walk or bike to work, or incorporate quick exercises during short breaks. 6. Accountability Partner: Partnering with a friend or colleague for workouts adds accountability. Knowing someone is expecting you can be a powerful motivator. 7. Flexible Routine: Be flexible with your workout routine. If your schedule changes, have alternative workout plans that can be adapted to fit your available time. P.S. This was my first time shooting from a moving boat, and I am very satisfied with how a lot of my photos turned out. #healthyhabits #preparation #fitness #nature #photography

Fellow fit dads— we know how insane life gets between work, family duties, endless errands...no wonder finding time to exercise often loses out! 😵💫 I’ve realized if I don’t schedule workouts ahead of time and commit, they’ll never become a priority. That’s why my #1 tip is to carve out very specific days/times for your training sessions each week so they feel obligatory—just like a meeting for work or kids’ soccer practice. Block off Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings for hitting the gym. Or Tuesday and Thursday evenings for a home strength workout after the kids are in bed. Treat this time like any other must-do appointment! Once it’s scheduled, make your fitness a done deal. 💪 This ensures you PLAN for exercise instead of trying to fit it in last minute. You take out the “I don’t have time!” excuse because you MAKE the time come hell or high water. You train your mind to protect that workout time against all odds. This is how it becomes a lifelong habit guys—non-negotiable! Let me know if you give workout scheduling a try and how it works for you! What time slots tend to be most consistent for your goals? Share any other favorite fitness tips too! Let’s help each other level up! #FitDad #MakeTime #NonNegotiable #SetSchedule #BlockTime #GymDate #NoExcuses #Fitdad #FItdaddy #Happy #Healthy #Consistency

As a busy recruiter, owner of The Finders, and mom/dog-mom, I know how hard it is to stay active during the holidays. While I may not consistently adhere to my full-time workout routine during this busy season, I do ensure to incorporate fitness in alternative ways. Prioritizing physical activity is essential for both my physical and mental well-being. Here are some things that make working out a non-negotiable for me 👇 → I try to walk 10,000 steps a day. I know, this one can be a pain. My tip? Multitask during this time! Out on a walk? Listen to a podcast or schedule a phone call. → I prioritize quick, high-intensity workouts. These are great when you’re short on time. →I work out in the morning. Starting the day with morning workouts ensures I’m consistent with my exercise schedule. →I schedule workouts into my calendar. I always plan my days out, so I’ll make sure to block off time to exercise. This forces my brain to think it’s just as necessary as all my other tasks. →I take the stairs whenever I can. →I set realistic goals. I don’t try to sneak in more sessions than I know I can physically and mentally handle. Are you struggling to stay active during the busiest season of the year? Try the tips above and let me know how it goes! #worklifebalance #healthylifestyle #wellness
