But most platforms start by overwhelming users, ↳ before even showing what problems they solve. So here’s what we changed (and how): Our exact wireframe-to-handoff process: 1. Purpose-built UX structure: We started by mapping real user flows ↳ especially buyers, analysts & security engineers. 2. Designed with trust psychology: - Confident layout - Data-backed visuals - Performance stats front and center 3. Simplified the story: We removed clutter. And turned complex security signals into: - Digestible sections - Clear benefit-led content - Product-first hierarchy 4.     Want data platforms people actually trust? It takes more than just tools. My practical experience shows four key ingredients... Many of us in the data world know the feeling. Too much time spent fixing broken pipelines, dealing with unreliable data, and feeling like we're constantly firefighting instead of enabling insights. Building data platforms that truly solve these problems and deliver lasting value requires a shift towards thinking about the platform itself as a product, designed to serve its users effectively. Having built and led data platform engineering teams across different industries, from online groceries, music tech, to finance (following years as a data engineer in other sectors), I've had the chance to see what works and what doesn't. In my latest blog post, I dive into these practical lessons learned. I explore four key ingredients necessary for creating data platforms that people find useful: 1. Thinking like a product owner: Understanding user needs deeply and curating the right solutions, not just offering raw technology. 2. Building helpful software abstractions: Going beyond basic infrastructure to create the tools and automation that genuinely simplify workflows and enforce standards. 3. Enabling a broad range of users: Designing for self service and safety, making sure everyone from application developers to analysts can work effectively. 4.     Here's our radical approach to measurement partnerships: No trust required. Just evidence. Every Recast model makes predictions. Next month's revenue will be $X. If you cut Meta spend by 30%, sales will drop by $Y. And so on. The key is that each of these forecasts are specific numbers that reality will either confirm or reject. This creates falsifiability. It means we don’t have to ask clients to trust us as a vendor. Instead, we’re asking them to verify our predictions. When a Recast model predicts $150K in incremental revenue with a specific budget change, but reality delivers -$50K, everyone sees the miss. There’s no hiding behind a "proprietary model" or opaque assumptions. The model was wrong and it needs to be fixed. We think this is a critical solve to one of measurement's oldest problems: who judges the judge? When platforms grade their own homework, they will almost always pass. When consultants evaluate their recommendations, they're always brilliant. But when you make falsifiable predictions, the data becomes the judge. Revenue either comes in or it doesn’t. New customers convert or they don't. Reality has the final say. That's the relationship we want with clients. Not faith-based partnerships where you hope we're right, but evidence-based ones where we prove it every week.

    Why 67% of Visitors Won’t Complete Their Purchase on Your Site and How to Fix It! If you’re running an e-commerce store or any site for that matter, there’s one thing you can’t afford to ignore: trust. Your customers can’t walk into your store, touch your products, or meet you in person. The only thing standing between them and that “Add to Cart” button is their confidence in your brand. So, how do you build trust effectively? It starts with making your store feel professional, welcoming, and customer-first. Here’s a few trust-building strategies you can use to help turn visitors into customers: 1. Make Policies Transparent - Spell out your shipping, return, and refund policies clearly. PRO TIP: Offer a 60-90 No Questions Asked Guarantee (when possible). We have seen this consistently DECREASE returns. Make returns easy, the last thing you want are mad customers blowing up social media telling people you suck. 2. Showcase Social Proof: Include customer reviews, ratings, and photos on your home and product pages. Invest in quality images, DO NOT use stock photos. A clean, professional design signals reliability. Avoid unnecessary clutter and outdated visuals. Add trust badges on product page, cart and checkout pages (e.g., “Secure Payment” or “90 Day Risk Free Guarantee”). 3. Leverage User Generated Content: Share testimonials or case studies from your happiest customers. Highlight how your product made their lives better or solved a problem. 4. Show You Contact Info: Make it effortless to get in touch—think live chat, a support email, phone number AND physical address. Would you put your credit card info into a site with no phone number or address on it? You would be amazed how many sites do not have simple contact info listed anywhere. 5. Have a GREAT FAQ section, this will answer objections and ease doubts. Why does this matter? A store that feels trustworthy drives not just conversions but loyalty. It’s the kind of store customers love, they will be repeat buyers and brand advocates. Without trust, even the best product or site design won’t cut it.
