Smart glasses are going to transform field service. But your technicians probably think they're bullshit. I get it. They've been promised better digital tools for a decade. I know because I've built some for them. And every time, we delivered something that made them stop what they're doing: 🧤 Take off their gloves 📱 Pull out their phone 📶 Make sure they had Wi-Fi connectivity 🔐 Log in to some app 📋 Navigate a menu 🔢 Punch in a 16 digit serial number or VIN And then maybe, just maybe there was relevant information there. We optimized mobile interfaces as much as we could to make this whole process easier, but it was never going to be great. So when you show a technician smart glasses, of course they think it's another gimmick. Until they start using them. Smart glasses are getting close to the point where they eliminate all the clunky interface issues. You are able to literally just say "find me the part number for this" and it'll do it. Then say, "order the part for me and add it to a draft invoice for the customer." All it takes is a sentence or two and the glasses will do all the administrative work in the back end. Things that would require 20 - 30 minutes of paperwork, you're able to do in seconds. With glasses, you record your workflow and AI completes the paperwork for you.
