Although his career path began as a Flight Attendant for Northwest Airlines, Michael Chock would, in time, rise through the ranks to the position of Director of Alliances at SkyTeam Airline Alliance Management. As a Flight Attendant, Michael Chock supervised a crew of 16 attendants on international flights. In a few years, however, Michael Chock moved up to become an Administrative Supervisor at Northwest, where he oversaw leave requests and employee performance reviews, as well as investigated grievances. By 1990, he had been promoted to Manager of Flight Service, a position he held for the following six years.
