My journey as a Child and Youth Worker has been exactly that. Getting into the field was a somewhat circuitous route. What I have found is that this summarizes my professional life. I find myself often going in circles, but ones that actually lead somewhere.
I began my career working with the most at risk youth both at Whitby Psych and CTYS ( on the street). For me there was a telling and meaningful frame that was created by working within the secure walls of an institution and working in a program without walls at all.
