We all know science/R&D plays a crucial role in our lives but not everyone appreciates the frustrations scientists face with respect to intellectual property rights and patents.
Unbelievably, a lot of scientists are still grappling with traditional Paper Laboratory Notebooks to record findings and avoid potential litigation – this means hand-written notes and literally cutting and pasting paper from digital sources. Apart from the obvious inefficiency, there is no search functionality. As if these men and women don’t have enough obstacles in their daily working life!
