Yesterday, we were proud to sponsor the EdTech & AI Indaba 2025, where industry leaders, innovators, and educators came together to shape the future of education. Speaking on behalf of our CEO, our Corporate Affairs and Public Relations Manager Suwilanji Siame, shared how Zamtel is a key enabler of EdTech in Zambia. Through our national 4G and 5G network upgrade, we are connecting more schools, students, and educators to digital learning opportunities. Our plan to upgrade 1,200 sites nationwide, with 600 set to be completed by December 2025 and 160 already live, is creating a stronger, faster and more reliable digital backbone for education. Additionally, we are using Zamtel Money to drive accessibility by enabling affordable digital payments for online learning tools, platforms, and educational services, ensuring no learner is left behind. Together, we are building a future where connectivity meets opportunity, empowering every Zambian student to learn, grow, and thrive in the digital age. The event was graced by Education Minister Hon. Douglas Syakalima and Technology and Science Minister Hon. Felix Mutati.

Last week, our Zamtel team had the pleasure of conducting a Digital Skills Clinic with the vibrant youth of Chongwe District. The session was an opportunity to share knowledge, inspire innovation, and build confidence in navigating today’s digital world. We focused on equipping the participants with essential digital skills, introducing them to opportunities in e-commerce, and encouraging the responsible use of social media to foster safer and more positive online communities. In addition, we took time to raise awareness about digital fraud, helping the youth understand how to identify scams and protect themselves while using online platforms. At Zamtel, we believe that digital literacy is key to unlocking opportunities for the next generation. By investing in the youth of Zambia, we are helping to build a future where technology empowers, connects and drives growth. Today we had an honour to host a team from COMESA Clearing House, under the DFI programme, led by the Chief Operating Officer, Dr Jonathan Pinifolo. During the visit, Dr Pinifolo and the Zamtel CEO, Mr Jason Mwanza discussed areas of collaboration between the two institutions aimed at promoting intra-COMESA trade through the soon to be launched, COMESA Digital Retail Payment Platform. As Zamtel we appreciate such partnerships with COMESA especially at a time when we are upgrading 600 sites countrywide to 4G and 5G. Today we were honoured to host a team from Liquid Intelligent Technologies led by the Acting Chief Executive Officer Mr Mwendamo Isaac Mazaba. During the visit the two teams discussed opportunities of how Zamtel and Liquid Technologies can collaborate to provide digital solutions for the people of Zambia. The two teams also agreed to explore different avenues of working together to improve internet access and help bridge the digital divide in the country. As Zamtel we remain committed to the agenda of bridging the digital divide especially in the underserved areas through our network upgrade of sites across the country. To date over 138 sites have been upgraded to 4G in different parts of the country. A total of 600 sites will be upgraded to 4G whilst 100 sites will be upgraded to 5G by end of December 2025. #strategicpartnerships #collaboration #networkupgrade

Zamtel was proud to partner with the Harry Mwaanga Nkumbula foundation which hosted a public lecture on the challenges of implementaing the African Continental Free Trade Agreement . The event which was held at the Government Complex last night was graced by the Minister of Finance and National Planning, Honourable Dr Situmbeko Musokotwane with Professor Muna Ndulo as the Keynote Speaker. The public lecture centered around the need for Africa to invest in infrastructure and human capital development if the continent is to compete favorably on the international stage. As Zamtel we commitee to play our role in the area of infrastructure development through our countrywide network upgrade to 4G and 5G.
